Mr. Matarranz was convicted of burglary and murder. At his trial, the judge rejected a request from his attorneys to exclude a potential juror who questioned whether she could be unbiased because of childhood memories of being a victim of burglary. The Third District Court of Appeal upheld the trial court. Mr. Matarranz asked this Court to review the case.
