Changing Your Default Media Player for File Type Association

In MAC OS X you are able to associate certain file types with a particular program. This guide will give you instructions on how to change your file type association. The files that play WFSU's web streams have an extention of ".m3u" and they reference ".mp3" streams.

Step 1
Right click on the stream and save the .m3u file to your computer.

Locate the file and highlight it in your finder. Right click and choose "Get Info" or hold down Command- I. A smaller window should open with the file info.

Click the dropdown under "Open with:" and choose the program you prefer to open the stream with, such ase iTunes. Then click "Change All" to change the association of all files of this type.

When you double-click on the file, it should now open with your preferred program choice.
