THE MAYHAWS: July 7th on 4fsu
The Mayhaws are an acoustic group based in Tallahassee. They make some sweet music that is occasionally thorny, and feature three highly regarded songwriters. They are making new contributions to traditional American roots music, which they consider to be endangered.

The 2007-2008 season of WFSU outloud will arm Tallahasseans with the knowledge to brag about their always eclectic and talented local music scene. outloud is proud to present you with local rockers, jazzers, and zheng players (among others), including interviews with these talented performers. WFSU.org will play a roll in the program this season by providing viewers with a source for additional information about each program, including performer names, set lists, background information and additional video clips of interviews, songs, and outtakes. Del Suggs & Friends - Bayou Josie |
Del Suggs has been singing in Tallahassee for decades and this is not his first appearance on WFSU. The 2007 outloud program, "Del Suggs & Friends," features clips from a 1989 performance on WFSU -- when Del performed with the same friends featured on this program. This clip is from his 2007 outloud performance which will premiere this fall; it's called Bayou Josie. |
