Ernest Tillman v. State of Florida
Case Number(s):
SC02-717

Transcript:

Summary:

While attending a neighbor's party, Tillman was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence. This occurred after an off-duty officer drove past the party, heard loud music, and saw people drinking out-of-doors. He stopped to investigate and called in other officers. One of the officers stopped and frisked Tillman, and the two soon were in a fight. Tillman was convicted of the charges but, on appeal, alleges that he should not have been convicted because police officers had unlawfully stopped and searched him.
