Mr. Franklin was convicted of the murder of Jerry Lawley, a security guard for a box factory who was fatally shot a short time after giving Mr. Franklin directions. The jury voted unanimously to recommend a death sentence and he was condemned. This is his direct appeal and he raises several issues.
