Mr. Williams was convicted of the murder of Lisa Dyke, who was attacked in January 1993 and died in early February. He was condemned to death. Both the sentence and conviction were reversed and Mr. Williams was tried a second time and convicted. The jury voted 10-2 to recommend a death sentence and he was condemned again.
