Systems Components was forced to relocate its operations after the Florida Department of Transportation petitioned to condemn its property in order to widen State Road 40. Systems Components and FDOT disagreed over how the business damages owed to the company should be measured. The trial court determined that Systems Components should receive its actual damages rather than the total value of the company. The Fifth District Court of Appeal upheld the trial court and certified conflict with a prior decision of the Fourth District Court of Appeal. This appeal followed.
