The Criminal Court Steering Committee is asking the Court to approve proposed rules dealing with the involuntary commitment of sexually violent predators. The comprehensive set of recommended rules is based on Florida Rules of Civil Procedure. The committee adapted those existing rules to deal with the unique issues involved in use of the state law that requires the ongoing commitment of sexually violent predators after completion of their prison sentences.
