Mr. Knight was convicted of the first-degree murder of Richard Kunkel, who was fatally
shot in 1993. Mr. Knight waived his right to a penalty hearing before a jury and the judge
condemned him to death. This Court upheld the sentence on direct appeal and Mr.
Knight filed a postconviction challenge in trial court. It was denied; this is his appeal of
that ruling.
