Summary:
In December 1978, flower shop owner James Alessi was found bound and gagged in his home, bludgeoned to death. Scott and another man named Kondian were arrested in connection with the murder. Kondian escaped a capital trial by entering a plea agreement, and Scott was convicted and sentenced to death. The sentence was affirmed on appeal. Scott now challenges the validity of his death sentence.
