Brown was convicted of the first-degree murder of Audreanna Zimmerman who was kidnapped and set on fire in 2010. The jury unanimously voted to recommend a death sentence and the trial court sentenced Brown to death. This Court affirmed the conviction and sentence on direct appeal and Brown filed a post-conviction challenge in the trial court. It was denied and this appeal followed. Brown has also filed a habeas corpus petition.
