Boston was convicted of misdemeanor battery for attacking his work supervisor with a hammer. At trial, Boston argued that he acted in self-defense. During his Stand Your Ground immunity hearing, the trial court ruled that Boston was the aggressor, and the judge denied Bostonââ,¬â"¢s motion for immunity. Boston appealed his conviction to the First District Court of Appeal, arguing that the trial court applied the wrong standard during his immunity hearing. During Bostonââ,¬â"¢s appeal, Floridaââ,¬â"¢s Stand Your Ground immunity law changed, and the First DCA decided that he was not entitled to a new immunity hearing. Boston asks this Court for review because the First DCA decision conflicts with another appellate court decision.
