Summary:

The case proposes amendments to the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure. Changes in Florida law concerning pretrial detention prompted the Supreme Court to ask the Criminal Court Steering Committee to propose a rewrite of rule 3.132. The steering committee filed its report in June 2024, and following comments, filed an updated proposal in August 2024.
