Ramirez was arrested for the murder of Mary Jane Quinn, whose body was found on Christmas Day 1983 in the Miami Federal Express building. His first two convictions were reversed due to errors at trial. At his third trial he was convicted and sentenced to death on a 9-to-3 jury recommendation. He appeals.
