Hall was sentenced to consecutive terms of five years for possession of cocaine and another five years for resisting arrest with violence under Florida's new Criminal Punishment Code. On appeal, he challenged the constitutionality of the Code on a variety of grounds, but the District Court affirmed his sentences.
