Lasers and Lagers

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Five award-winning science fiction and fantasy authors will converge on Panama City June 29 at 5 p.m. for ‘Lasers and Lagers.’ This unique event will connect area readers with writers from their favorite genres for conversations and drinks while raising money for the Friends of the Bay County Public Libraries.

Lasers and Lagers will be held at the Lie’brary on Beck, a craft beer and wine bar located at 1123 Beck Avenue. Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy a variety of activities ranging from author readings and Q&A sessions to a door raffle offering chances to win signed books, memorabilia, and other prizes.

Participating Lasers and Lagers authors include Webster Award winner and three-time Dragon Award finalist Chris Kennedy, Amazon-bestseller Ian J. Malone, and Imadjinn Award finalist Barbara V. Evers among others.

“It’s always fun to hang out with readers at these types of events, but that’s especially true when it happens this close to home,” said Malone, a Panhandle native who co-hosts The Dudes in Hyperspace Podcast with fellow bestseller Kevin Steverson. “I spent a lot of summers in this community as a kid. Now, to have this chance to give back to it as an adult is truly special.”
