Bee-Friendly Gardens<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We start in the “demonstration garden” at the University of Florida\/IFAS Extension Office <\/a>on Paul Russell Road (Leon County) and look ahead to all the fabulous plants and flowers that we can plant in our spring gardens. As we have been doing in other episodes this season, we\u2019re looking at ways to make our garden perfect for the native bees of our region. Ecology producer, WFSU\u2019s Rob Diaz de Villegas, <\/a>has been working on these stories as a tie-in to the PBS|NATURE<\/a> documentary called \u201cMy Garden of a Thousand Bees.\u201d <\/a>In this episode, Rob talks with our partners about more than 30 different types of flowering plants <\/a>you can put in your yard. These plants not only look great but also help local native bees thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
