He was 56.<\/p>\n<p>Former Tallahassee state senator Bill Montford called Jackson \u201chonorable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cSome receive that title by being elected to office like myself and some of my colleagues here today,&#8221; Montford said. &#8220;In Jimbo\u2019s case, the name honorable refers to a man of unparalleled integrity and honesty and a man with the highest of moral values.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Montford, who also served as a school principal and superintendent in Leon County, says he remembers watching Jackson grow up.<\/p>\n<p>As a child, Jackson lived in the Fort Braden community.
