A Tallahassee studio that provides artistic and life skills training for adults with disabilities is headed back to The Moon after a COVID timeout last year. The event will include a performance by the ever-popular Electric People.<\/p>\n

Lindsay Joseph is the director of Pyramid Studios.<\/p>\n

“Pyramid is an adult day training program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” she explained. “What makes us different from other day programs is that we are arts-focused.”<\/p>\n

Until the pandemic hit, that focus meant a yearly fundraiser during which the creative talents of the nearly 300 Pyramid students would be showcased. This Satuday, Aug. 6, that showcase event returns to The Moon. Musical acts will include Brett Wellman and the Stone Cold Blues Band, Rachel Hillman and R.P. Allen, who’ll lead into Pyramid’s house band, the Electric People.”<\/p>\n

“We have 10 members in our band,” said Joseph. “We have saxaphone, trombone and trumpet players, drummers, singers, bassists and guitarists. It’s a good thing we’re at The Moon, because it has an appropriate-sized stage for all the members of our band.”<\/p>\n

Joseph added there will also be a display of visual artworks created by the students, all for sale. Doors at The Moon open for the Pyramid Palooza happening at 5 p.m. <\/p>\n
