Baca took on the role last month after former head coach Patti Townsend stepped down in April.<\/p>\n<p>Townsend leaves behind 20 years of winning multiple district titles and being a runner up in the national tournament. However, Baca says she is ready for the challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTCC welcomes you with open arms,&#8221; said Baca. &#8220;I\u2019m just really happy to take what Coach Patti has built, ready to hit the ground running and just get started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baca is a former standout player-turned-coach from Texas. She says while her players are expected to perform out on the field, she wants education to be everyone\u2019s main focus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why I think this opportunity is so awesome, said Baca. &#8220;Here we get to build off foundations and fundamentals\u2014 just learning how to be an adult after college.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Baca announced she will be working on recruitment during the offseason, as only two players will be returning from last year\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<p>Last season the Eagles finished at the bottom of their conference at 22-20.
