Quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/seminoles.com\/news\/2014\/6\/17\/steve-tensi-bio\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Steve Tensi<\/a> died last Friday, March 15, at the age of 81.<\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot-5 quarterback from Ohio started for the Noles for three seasons, dating back to 1962. He and Bill Peterson, who was his coach at the time, broke records together.<\/p>\n<div class=\"Enh\" data-align-center>\n<div class=\"OEmbed\">\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Tensi threw for 33 touchdowns and finished his career with the Noles with 3,000 passing yards. He still owns the record for the most touchdown passes thrown in a game in Gator Bowl history.<\/p>\n<p>Tensi\u2019s arm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverbroncos.com\/news\/broncos-mourn-passing-of-former-qb-steve-tensi\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carried him into the pros<\/a>. He played six years with the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos. He was <a href=\"https:\/\/nolefan.org\/summary\/lwmap.pdf\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inducted<\/a> into FSU\u2019s Hall of Fame in 1981.<\/p>\n<p>He died in Boone, North Carolina, where he and his wife lived.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"fullattribution\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google-analytics.com\/__utm.gif?utmac=UA-5828686-4&amp;utmdt=Former+Florida+State+quarterback+Steve+Tensi+passes+away+at+the+age+of+81&amp;utme=8(APIKey)9(MDA4MzU1MzUzMDEzMTkyMzAwMzY5MjY1Mw004)\" \/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":19887,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"tdm_status":"","tdm_grid_status":"","wds_primary_category":0},"categories":[],"tags":[1136,1135],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.3 -
