Florida A&M University is welcoming a new face to the Rattlers football program.<\/p>\n

Head Coach James Colzie III<\/a> announced Tuesday, he\u2019s adding Henry Burris<\/a> as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.<\/p>\n

“I felt it was important to get someone who could step in right away and gel with our offensive staff,” Colzie said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n

Coach Burris will be joining the Rattlers to help lead the team\u2019s offense and mentor the guys at the quarterback position.<\/p>\n

The former pro Canadian football player brings years of experience to the team as both a coach and player. He\u2019s Colzie\u2019s first outside hire and fans hope he\u2019ll make an immediate impact.<\/p>\n

Burris spent 18 years playing quarterback in the Canadian Football League (CFL), throwing for over 65,000 yards. He\u2019s a member of the league\u2019s Hall of Fame. He also coached several teams in the National Football League.<\/p>\n

“Joining the Florida A&M University staff isn’t just about football; it’s about FAMUly,” said Burris. “My wife, Nicole, and our boys, Armand, and Barron are thrilled to embark on this journey together.<\/p>\n

FAMU will be having its first scrimmage game this Saturday at Bragg Memorial Stadium at 4pm. Tickets can be purchased at famuathletics.com\/springgame<\/a> <\/p>\n
