Florida State University (41-13, 19-5 ACC)<\/a> and the Rattlers of Florida A&M (23-18, 19-5 SWAC)<\/a> both take part in a series of hotly contested matchups this week for a chance at gold.<\/p>\n

Florida A&M softball will be in Gulfport, Mississippi, this week as they look to win their first ever Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) title<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n

The Rattlers took a leap<\/a> in the second season under Camise Patterson<\/a>, going from fourth in the SWAC East in 2023, to winning their first SWAC East Regular Season Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Florida A&M will play Arkansas-Pine Bluff (8-14) Tuesday, May 7th at 3:30 p.m. in the first game of the SWAC Tournament.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Florida State will be trying for its second consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championship under coach Lonnie Alameda<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Noles will be the No. 2 seed in the ACC Tournament. The tournament begins with first-round games on Wednesday, but the Seminoles earned a bye into the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

Florida State\u2019s softball team took home its 19th ACC Championship title last year with a walk-off 2-1 victory over Duke<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Seminoles have won eight of the last nine tournaments. This will be the Noles’ 20th ACC title. Their tournament<\/a> begins Thursday at 5 p.m. (ACC Network) in Durham, North Carolina, against the North Carolina-Notre Dame winner. <\/p>\n
