Last October, WFSU reported that Dr. Mark Newberry, Havana\u2019s only primary care physician, would be retiring.<\/a><\/p>\n

His retirement would leave 2,000 patients without a doctor. Now, four months later, officials have found his replacement.<\/p>\n

Havana’s Mayor Eddie Bass told WFSU on Wednesday that it\u2019s Camron Browning, MD,<\/a> a family physician at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was very important to the town to find a doctor,” he said. “We had citizens that were very worried and luckily, we got one coming in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Browning will replace Dr. Newberry in August, as he is set to retire at the end of the month. He’s been Havana\u2019s doctor for more than 30 years.<\/p>\n

Browning is a Havana native, who works in TMH\u2019s Family Medicine Residency Program. He attended the University of Florida and obtained his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine.<\/p>\n

According to officials, Browning will work out of the town\u2019s medical facility after the building “undergoes maintenance.” <\/p>\n
