The Gadsden County Sheriff\u2019s Office says the suspect accused of shooting four people<\/a>, leaving two of the victims dead during a robbery at the Mobil station on Pat Thomas Parkway in Quincy last week, is 44-year-old Dominic Caroway of Avondale, Arizona.<\/p>\n

GCSO confirmed Caroway\u2019s identity<\/a> on Monday by use of biometric identification, AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System), facial recognition technology, along with Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division databases.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis type of criminal behavior has to stop and with the help of federal, state and local law enforcement partners will be stopped,\u201d a GCSO spokesperson said Monday.<\/p>\n

Authorities shot and killed Caroway Friday morning around 9 a.m., in what Gadsden County Sheriff\u2019s Office say happened during an \u201cexchange of gunfire\u201d with SWAT.<\/p>\n

The shootout took place in Live Oak after the suspect led several law enforcement agencies on a manhunt moments before.<\/p>\n

During the pursuit, the Arizona man shot a Suwannee County deputy<\/a>, who is still recovering with non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Sheriff Young said in a statement Monday that the suspect \u201cgot what he deserved after taking the lives of innocent people and injuring three others.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Young, the suspect appears to have committed the crimes acting alone and independent of others, with no known affiliations. <\/p>\n
