Second Harvest of the Big Bend is hosting another emergency food distribution in Tallahassee Thursday due to cuts to the low-income food program<\/a> known as SNAP. <\/p>\n

The cuts are a result of the prolonged federal government shutdown as Congress can’t agree on a budget.<\/p>\n

The food distribution happens in the Governor’s Square Mall parking lot starting at 4 o’clock this afternoon. It lasts until the food runs out.<\/p>\n

The Tallahassee Urban League is hosting an additional food distribution Friday, Nov. 6, in partnership with Second Harvest<\/a> and many other community groups.<\/p>\n

That event happens from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Piggly Wiggly on South Monroe Street near Putnam Drive. <\/p>\n
