Lamplighters Coach Terence McCoy said the local team will be going up against the best step teams from all over the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s an amazing opportunity for these young men to be on the national platform, getting to showcase their talent to a large crowd of over 5,000 people with Kirk Franklin as one of the headlining celebrity guests. So it&#8217;s a huge honor and opportunity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Among the nearly 30 team members is Kerwin Jones.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m pretty excited! It&#8217;s my last national show as a senior. I never got a ring yet, so I&#8217;m hoping to get one this year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Besides being a showcase for amazingly coordinated and complex step dance routines, Stomp Wars promotes youth leadership, personal excellence and academic achievement.
