Community Discussion

Join us for a FREE screening and presentation of Retro Local. We will take a new look at historical issues in our community by examining two stories: the impact of eminent domain on Tallahassee's Smokey Hollow neighborhood and Florida A&M University’s former hospital, its closure, and the related civil rights struggles that continue today. A panel discussion will follow, moderated by WFSU's Gina Jordan, with panelists FAMU SJGC Professor Kenneth Jones, FAMU History Professor Reginald Ellis, and WFSU-FM News Director Lynn Hatter.

Time and Location

Join WFSU Public Media on Tuesday, October 22 at 6P at the FAMU School of Journalism & Graphic Communication.

The Project

Retro Report, funded through a grant from the PBS, premieres on WFSU-TV on October 7 at 9/8C. This new series aims to widen the discussion beyond the 24-hour news cycle, revealing the story behind the story. Each episode will explore four distinct stories, together with a special weekly segment featuring the wit and wisdom of author and comedian Andy Borowitz.
