Ashlee Fontes-Comber is a former Florida State University soccer player and Tallahassee Reckoning’s founder. She says the idea started from wanting to see young women fulfill their dreams.

During Wednesday night’s rally for the new team, she said Reckoning would also offer training for middle and high school athletes. Fontes-Comber says the programs will need community support.

“To give our local athletes the best chance, we need booster-like support, sponsors, volunteers, interns, and to pack the freaking stands,” said Fontes-Comber. “Together with full support, we will surround our girls with the critical women’s soccer specific development resources they need.”

Reckoning won’t have its debut until 2024 however this Fall, coach Fontes Comber says she will open the doors to train young women soccer players and bring the community together.

Reckoning joins the men’s Tallahassee Soccer Club, as the second pre-pro team in the area. All the home games will be played at Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee, beginning next May.
