Florida State University’s football team is looking for redemption after slipping from No. 3 to No. 4 in the AP College Football rankings.
“Taking ownership” was the phrase used by Florida State football coach Mike Norvell following last Saturday’s performance against Boston College.
His team managed to win the game 31-29, after coughing up the ball twice and nearly blowing a three-touchdown lead to an opponent who had only won one game.
The fourth-year head coach held a press conference on Monday to outline a plan for improvement. Norvell says while he can commend his team for getting the win, the lack of execution and missed communication must be corrected.
“It’s something we look at as coaches, we look at as players; we all take ownership in it,” said Norvell. It’s all part of how we can better execute the things that we’re being asked to do. You got to go out here and do it.”
FSU will have another big test on the road this week. The Noles will face the Clemson Tigers, a program that made it to the national title game just four years ago. The game is scheduled for this Saturday at noon.
