Florida State debuts new LED lighting system at home opener

    Florida State (2-0) came out last Saturday picking apart Southern Miss (1-1) with a high-powered offense and relentless defense.

    The Noles put up 31 points in the first half alone. Junior running back Trey Benson scored 3 of the team’s nine touchdowns. The team’s blowout 66-13 victory wasn’t the only thing that kept fans amazed.

    A new LED lighting system at Doak Campbell Stadium dimmed, strobed, and lit up Bobby Bowden field throughout the game. described the atmosphere as amazing.

    “I enjoyed the lights, the new features they added this year” said long time FSU fan Xaiver Holmes. “Overall, the experience was worthwhile, it was definitely worthwhile.”

    It’s one of many additions’ fans will get to see at Doak this year. The university recently announced plans for a $200 million plus renovation project to revamp seating and bring in additional revenue.

    That project is slated to begin after the football season, which fans are hoping will culminate with a national championship.
