A new play is coming to the Monticello Opera House. Tuesdays with Morrie is a warm and positive play that actually has death as a central premise.
The play is based on a real-life story. Years after college graduation, a man sees one of his professors on TV. The professor is dying from a serious disease. Play Director Jeffrey Mandel says the former student decides to seek the professor out.
“When his former student after 16 years contacts him and goes to see him, they fall back into the relationship they had of teacher and student, even though the student is now a grown man. And the professor decides to teach him the meaning of life and how to live.”
Tuesdays With Morrie opens this weekend at the Monticello Opera House and runs through the 29th of this month.
