Thursday, July 16 is opening night for a very different kind of musical at the Monticello Opera House.
“Five Guys Named Moe,” with music by the great Louis Jordan, combines time travel, wicked humor and a morality tale as fresh as the latest headlines. In the Monticello Opera House production, Samuel King portrays “No Moe.”
“This is the perfect place for a show like this to happen! With the intimate venue, you almost feel like you’re really in a club seeing these performances happen live. It really does make you feel like you’re in an immersive setting and that’s the fun part of this show.”
And of course there’s that great music! Here’s Music Director Robert Nelson.
“All of the songs are pretty much high energy, funny, they tell stories, which can relate to the audience. There’s a lot of audience participation. We even bring some of the people up on the stage.”
