A North Florida photographer provides extreme close ups of the Cuban people

The Trump Administration’s recent ramp up of verbal and economic attacks on Cuba has put the island nation back in the spotlight. A unique view of the Cuban people will be on display in Thomasville beginning this Thursday.

The artist is photographer Richard Bickel and his exhibit is entitled “No Borders;” an extreme close-up of a population both brave and beleaguered.

“Their resilience, their resourcefulness against all odds. I’ve done 7 trips just in the last 2 years and things continue to go downhill.”

The exbibit at the Thomasville Center for the Arts is also a fundraiser for those Cubans most in need.

“On the 20th we’ll have an opening night – that’s the 20th of August – and then it will run until October 30th.”
