The Moon in Tallahassee was the scene of a musical benefit the evening of Sunday, Sept. 15 night to help the victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. The performances had a distinctly “island” feel.

Lili Forbes and her ensemble kicked off the evening as images of unbelievable storm devastation filled the big-screens flanking the stage. Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor was among the event organizers.

“That is the idea tonight that we want to register on the right side of humanity and help to lift and pick up people who at this moment could stand a little encouragement,” he said before welcoming the attendees.

Other performers during the evening included the Cross-Cultural Coalition Band, and Caribe Music Project. Capping the night of music was an authentic Bahamian group, Junkaroo who came all the way from Orlando to take part in the benefit.
