A person was transported to the hospital after a small plane crash occurred near the Tallahassee International Airport.
According to the City of Tallahassee, the crash happened shortly before 12 p.m. on July 8, prompting an Alert III aircraft emergency response.
Tallahassee Fire Department crews found the crashed aircraft with one occupant.
Firefighters treated the patient before Leon County EMS transported them to the hospital for further evaluation. Hazmat crews also worked to contain fuel after it was found leaking onto the aircraft’s wings. Crews then searched the plane to make sure no one else was inside.
Officials have not released the pilot’s condition or information about what caused the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
