Veteran Tallahassee stage director Naomi Rose-Mock has brought a variation of a well-known tale to an intimate setting. After a very well-attended trio of opening performances, the production will deliver its final 3 on-stage appearances this Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

After a long live-theatre hiatus, Rose-Mock said it’s great to be once again directing real people on a real stage.

“I’m doing ‘She Loves Me’ over at Faith Presbyterian where we perform theatre-in-the-round.”

And although many folks may be unfamiliar with the title “She Loves Me,” Rose-Mock said the story is one that most people have seen in several different versions.

“The story of ‘The Shop Around the Corner,’ or ‘You’ve Got Mail’ that was remade in the 90s. This is that story; a cute story about 2 people that are writing lonely hearts letters to each other and fall in love over these letters. And meanwhile don’t realize that they’re working together in a perfumery and despise each other in real life.”

Of course, hilarity ensues. And Rose-Mock said this play was put together by some of the greatest talents in the business.

“The guy who wrote the script is actually the same scriptwriter for the musical ‘Cabaret,’ which is another one of my favorites. And these characters are all fully realized people and there’s a lot of music, great singing, some fun dancing, and it’s all around you. I think it’s going to be a real immersive fun night of theatre.”

On top of that, Rose-Mock said some of the area’s top actors have been recruited for the double-cast.

“So, I’m super-grateful to have real, high-hitting veteran actors with me. It’s gonna be great!”

Rose-Mock says the final performances of “She Loves Me” will happen this coming week.

“And we’re performing Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. So make sure you get your tickets because it’s an intimate setting. We want to make sure we have everyone comfortable because it is small and intimate.”

Tickets can be found online at the Faith Presbyterian Church website.
