Tallahassee’s yearly Beer Festival is a happening that keeps getting bigger every year. More than 100 brewers were passing out samples of their various products during the Eighth Annual Festival on Saturday, August 8 at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. At one of those booths was Katherine Wynn with Tallahassee’s own Lake Tribe Brewing Company.
“What a great community we have! It’s not a competitive one, it’s a ‘let’s drink and enjoy it together.’ And there’s a different beer for every kind of person.”
One of those persons was Audrey Moore who definitely had some favorites.
“I really enjoyed Lunch Box over here. They have several beers that I’ve tried and enjoyed today.”
Proceeds from the Festival go to local non-profit organizations, such as Big Bend Cares where Dan Taylor is a board member.
“This huge, huge event supports little people who need help. And it’s amazing to me!”
Around 30 of the area’s not-for-profit service organizations in the United Partners for Human Services split the festival’s revenues.
