Gadsden County received a $77 million grant for multiple infrastructure and youth projects including, The Boys and Girls Clubs of The Big Bend.
The money was secured during this year’s legislative session. Kacy Dennis is the CEO of the organization.
“You always hear about there’s not a lot of things for kids to do in Gadsden County, that’s no longer the case,” said Dennis.
The Boys and Girls Clubs is receiving $3.6 million dollars in state funding. With that, Dennis says, they’ll build their own facility for afterschool programs.
“We can not be more excited about the opportunity and the support that we received from the community members, senators, and the governor,” said Dennis. “We’re just super excited about having this opportunity.”
