One of Broadway’s top artists will be performing in Tallahassee on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023. Broadway star Caissie Levy will give two concerts in support of Young Actors Theatre (YAT).

Proceeds will go toward the local production of a movie musical and an immersive educational experience for students of the performing arts program on Glenview Drive.

Levy is executive producing the movie Joni & the Whale. It was written and composed by her husband, Tallahassee-native and Broadway vet David Reiser, who is also a former YAT student. Casting is underway, and the film will include local performers.

Levy originated the role of Elsa in Disney’s Frozen on Broadway. Other prominent roles on Broadway include Fantine in Les Misérables, Sheila in Hair, and Molly in Ghost. She can currently be seen in Tom Stoppard’s new play, Leopoldstadt.

The benefit concerts are at 5:30pm and 8pm. Tickets range from $125 to $225. They can be purchased here.
