Drivers can support early learning by filling up at specific gas pumps this fall

    Leon County drivers can help local kids just by filling their tanks at designated gas pumps at Shell gas stations. Whole Child Leon is partnering with the Shell USA Giving Pump initiative now through the end of September.

    A penny for every gallon a consumer purchases will support Whole Child Leon. Courtney Atkins, Executive Director of Whole Child Leon says the program is a free and easy way for community members to show their support.

    “It’s very important that we work together as a community to look at what are those needs of our children and families, how can we advocate for them and also create initiatives to address those needs,” Atkins says.

    Whole Child Leon works to promote health and education for kids from birth to age five.

    Designated pumps will be decorated with colorful signs. And can be found at the following stations:
