Tallahassee’s WINTERFALL charity event takes place at Esposito’s Garden Center this Thursday. This year’s recipient organization is seeing a huge demand for its services.
That organization is ECHO. Executive Director Freddy Branham says its purpose is not only to provide immediate help for those in need in the form of items like food and clothing, but also to give them the resources to become self-sufficient.
“We offer classes in life skills resources and programs so people can make progress and move forward and achieve a goal that way. So that’s where the dollars from this event all plug into and we’re fortunate to be the beneficiary, but we know exactly what families will be utilizing that as we go forward.”
The Apalachee Center received $125,000 from last year’s WINTERFALL. Branham hopes a similar amount will be raised for ECHO this Thursday evening.
