Florida A&M’s Greg Coleman is the latest Rattler to join the Florida Sports Hall of Fame. Coleman has been selected as part of the Class of 2023.

The former football All-American was taken in the 1976 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Coleman was the National Football League’s first African-American punter.

The Jacksonville-native would go on to spend 12 years dominating the NFL with his rare ability to aim his kicks near the corner of the end zone and out of bounds marker– earning the nickname “Coffin Corner.” He ended his NFL career with over 33,000 punting yards.

The eight-member class will be inducted on November 8th in Jacksonville, Florida.

Coleman will join the likes of Bob Hayes, Pam Oliver, and Jake Gaither in the Florida Sports Hall of Fame.
