Florida A&M University great Costa “Pop” Kittles is joining the American Baseball Coaches Association’s (ABCA) Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
The All-Star baseball player played at Florida A&M during the late 1940s and 50s, before becoming one of the most successful head baseball coaches in school history.
Kittles became the Rattlers’ head baseball coach in 1960, piloting the program to their first of seven straight Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles and eight overall.
The Rattlers appeared in six NAIA district playoffs, advancing to the NAIA World Series in 1962 under Kittles.
The Jacksonville native, surpassed 400 wins and produced 19 professional baseball players during his 24-year tenure at FAMU.
The ABCA’s Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be inducted during its Hall of Fame Banquet on January 3rd.
