Leon County’s PACE Center will benefit from ‘A Walk In Her Shoes’

    A campaign is underway to raise awareness and support for Leon County’s PACE Center for Girls.

    PACE is a non-profit that provide free programs for middle and high schoolers. Offerings include academics, counseling, and social services.

    To help, the local accounting firm Thomas Howell Ferguson established a campaign called “A Walk In Her Shoes.” The money raised goes toward PACE programs, provides clothing, and helps students with transportation.

    The campaign ends July 26th, then a “purpose walk” to honor the students will be held August 2nd near the PACE Center located at 311 East Jennings Street, just south of Cascades Park. The route can be seen highlighted in the picture at the bottom of the story.

    WHO: Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs (THF), a top 200 accounting firm, and PACE Center for Girls Leon, a local non-profit organization focused on women’s development.

    WHAT: THF established the “A Walk In Her Shoes” campaign to raise awareness and funds to support the PACE Center. The funds raised will support the PACE programs, provide clothing, and assist with transportation services. In celebration, THF, PACE Center for Girls Leon, and community supporters will participate in a Purpose Walk to honor the students at the PACE Center Leon in Tallahassee, FL.

    WHEN: Friday, August 2, 2024. Participants will meet at 9:45 A.M., and the Purpose Walk will begin at 10:00 A.M. The Purpose Walk will last until 11:30 A.M.

    WHERE: Participants will meet at the PACE Center for Girls Leon, 311 E. Jennings St., Tallahassee, FL 32301.

    WHY: THF believes in, “Making an impact in everything we do…” As such, “A Mile In Her Shoes” is an effort to provide support to local community partners that provide services to children and families.
