Tallahassee’s International Rescue Committee will recognize World Refugee week this Saturday.
The group’s Leah Costigan says the community is invited to enjoy a range of festivities and show support for families who have found sanctuary in the capital city.
“We’re going to have food, drinks, a rummage sale, bouncy castles, and things like that so that our families can come and shop while their kids play,” said Costigan.
“It will be kind of a celebration of how far they have come and the accomplishments they have made since.”
The event will take place on the Emergency Care Help Organization grounds (548 E Bradford Rd) in Tallahassee from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
