Tallahassee’s Lemoyne Gallery is now hosting a show by one of today’s most celebrated abstract artists. “Mapped Journeys in Color and Verse,” an exhibit of works by St. Petersburg Florida’s Susan Antoinette, is now on display.
Antoinette says interpreting and appreciating abstract expressionist images is very different from viewing paintings that use real-world subject matter.
“Slow down, take a breath, let their eyes wander. Notice that first color, line or word, texture or gesture to draw them in. And then stay with the piece long enough to notice what reveals itself.”
Antoinette’s Lemoyne exhibit continues through September 19th.
