Tallahassee’s Young Actors Theatre has received a rare honor. Three of the studio’s student groups have been picked to perform at Disney Springs in Orlando over the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend later this month.
Young Actors CEO Sarah Roy said being chosen to perform before a national – and even international – audience is a fantastic accomplishment.
“You have to submit an application with video content and be selected to then perform at Disney, which is really exciting and magical and what a way to start the New Year!”
Local audiences will get a performance preview this Friday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Young Actors Glenview Drive playhouse.
“The repertoire they’ll be performing at Disney for our families and community members in addition to being paired with a live band and singing solos and duets of popular music.”
Proceeds from Friday’s performance tickets will support Young Actors’ scholarship program.
