Tallahassee’s LeMoyne Arts hosted a reception Saturday to showcase its “A New Renaissance” exhibit. Among the featured painters is Isabella Al-Sharif.
“Whenever I do a painting I don’t plan it out. I just let it flow through me and I’m kind of in shock whenever I see the results because it doesn’t feel real; it feels like something else. Nature also inspires me a lot and symbolism with animals,” she remarked, adding that the birth of her daughter had also inspired her to explore the themes of female empowerment in her paintings.
The exhibit also features works by Jason, John and Amy Bennion. LeMoyne’s “New Renaissance” continues through the 24th of this month.
