An alert for heavy police activity near the Florida State University College of Law demanding the area be avoided but was quickly dismissed with an all clear in less than 15 minutes Monday afternoon.
The alert was deemed a “false alarm” according to a spokesperson with the university’s communications.
The spokesperson said the police response was triggered by a tip of a possible firearm on campus. After further investigation it was identified as a tool someone was carrying.
No arrests were made, and the threat was identified as noncredible.
The communications spokesperson was unable to share details on how the tip was submitted.
